1. Role: IT Business Analyst
2. Location: Newport (Hybrid - one day per week on site)
3. Duration: 6 months initially
4. Day rate: £400-£450 per day (Outside IR35)
Yolk Recruitment are currently hiring for a South Wales / South West based IT Business Analyst on an initial 6-month contract, with likely extension.
You'll be working on a variety of IT change projects from inception to approval, focusing on defining objectives, gathering and analysing requirements, and supporting technical teams to shape appropriate solutions. This role involves facilitating workshops, managing supplier engagement, and preparing clear business cases and investment papers for senior stakeholders.
What you'll be doing:
5. Define project objectives and scope at an early stage
6. Work with sponsors to capture and document IT and business requirements
7. Collaborate with IT architects to ensure requirements align with appropriate solutions
8. Manage external supplier tendering and procurement processes
9. Produce investment papers covering costs, risks, timelines, and financial forecasting
10. Support multiple projects concurrently, prioritising workload and driving stakeholder decisions
What you'll bring to the role:
11. Extensive experience as a Business Analyst, able to demonstrate core BA skills
12. Strong facilitation, communication, and documentation skills
13. Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
14. Tenacity to drive key decisions with senior stakeholders
15. Experienced in:
16. Project definition and scoping
17. Supplier tendering and procurement
18. Liaison with and management of 3rd party suppliers
19. Business case preparation
20. Utility industry experience (desirable)
21. Infrastructure project experience (non-application)
22. BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis (or equivalent)
