Senior Service Support Officer – Corporate Service Support team
Providing high‑quality administrative and operational support to the Council's Asset team, the Senior Service Support Officer is key to ensuring the effective management of corporate assets using the Council's software systems. The role requires working closely with colleagues in the Assets team, within the Growth and Enterprise Unit, responding effectively to internal and external enquiries and ensuring asset‑based records are accurately populated, updated, and maintained.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and update asset registers, databases and related records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* Act as a key point of contact and respond to internal and external enquiries relating to asset information and records.
* Use QGIS / GIS to manage asset‑based spatial data, including mapping Council‑owned land and property.
* Provide administrative support for the coordination of asset‑related activities, including contracts and related documentation.
* Assist with collating information for various Service Plans and performance monitoring.
* Assist with collating information for asset inspections, audits and reporting requirements.
* Provide general administrative support alongside other Service Support Officers.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Assets team and across all Services to ensure the Council’s needs are met.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration or equivalent experience with a background in administrative or service support roles.
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and familiarity with ICT systems such as asset management systems, GIS, QGIS.
* Adaptable and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to build excellent working relationships with internal colleagues.
* Sound understanding of legal documentation.
* Background in a legal or estates environment is an advantage but not essential.
* Welsh language learning is supported; training opportunities available to meet specified Welsh language levels.
