The Advertising Product team sits within the Digital News and Streaming group and has ownership of all ad product decisions; sitting across formats, audience segmentation, demand partnerships and the technology needed to deliver ads effectively and efficiently. The team works closely with our UX, design, content and commercial teams as well as technical delivery units to ensure we have best in class, premium ad products delivering for our customers across the Globe.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a skilled and growing team that is delivering premium ad experiences for our users whilst aiding the delivery of revenue growth to our overall business.
We are looking for an Inventory Lead to join the team to help shape and deliver our digital Inventory hierarchy, reporting, analysis and yield in collaboration with the Yield Operations Manager. The role will assist the operational set up for accurate ad delivery to audiences across our media landscape, including web, app, video/audio variants. It will assist in developing our targeting capabilities and options, reporting, and analytics. The role will be a split of 75% Inventory Management and reporting and 25% supporting wider initiatives of the Inventory & Yield Management team.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
* Inventory Analysis & Segmentation: Proactively monitor, analyse, and forecast digital advertising inventory across all our platforms (web, mobile, app, video, audio, etc.). This includes slicing and dicing inventory based on various parameters such as audience demographics, content categories, geographic location, device type, ad unit size, and time of day. Audience development to create compelling and appropriate cohorts for our sales teams and our clients.
* Product Packaging & Development: Working closely with Partner Solutions to help develop and implement innovative inventory packages and bundles for sale to advertisers. This involves strategically splitting out our site and digital properties into attractive and marketable offerings that cater to diverse advertisers’ needs and campaign objectives. This role leads the operational aspects of this process.
* Yield Management & Pricing Strategy: Continuously monitor and analyse sell-through rates, eCPMs, and overall yield to identify opportunities for optimisation. Work closely with sales and ad operations teams to recommend and implement pricing strategies that maximise revenue while maintaining competitiveness. Analysing large data sets from data warehouses to be able to draw performance and bidding data including modelling opportunity costs of all the different inventory categories and usage.
* Forecasting & Capacity Planning: Develop accurate inventory forecasts to inform sales strategies and ensure sufficient capacity for future demand. Identify potential inventory shortfalls or surpluses and work proactively to address them via direct or indirect means. Utilise dedicated systems (our DMP and ad servers) and other tools to identify key trends and provide action-based outcomes from those trends and opportunities for growth.
* Data-Driven Recommendations: Translate complex data into actionable insights and provide strategic recommendations to improve inventory utilisation, product offerings, and overall advertising performance. Looking at the macro picture of our opportunities from a contextual and/or audience cohorts perspective and providing recommendations.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Ability to apply digital industry knowledge, market awareness, audience research and analytics insights to ad product strategy and planning.
* Extensive knowledge of the advertising eco‑system including ad servers, programmatic, consent management tools.
* Proven expertise in slicing and dicing inventory data to identify trends and opportunities. Familiarity with a/b testing techniques.
* Extensive knowledge of Google Ad Manager and advanced targeting.
* Extensive knowledge of DMP technology, preferably Permutive.
* Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of key digital advertising metrics (e.g., impressions, clicks, CTR, CPM, eCPM, fill rate, sell-through rate, yield). Advanced Excel knowledge.
