Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Platform Solution Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, cloud-native data platforms in Basildon. This role will focus on building modern lakehouse architectures leveraging AWS and Snowflake, ensuring high performance, reliability, and governance across enterprise data ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and deliver end-to-end data platform architecture using Snowflake, AWS, and modern lakehouse principles
* Produce high-quality Architecture Design Documents (ADDs) and technical blueprints
* Architect and optimise data pipelines using Airflow / MWAA and dbt
* Define and implement data lakehouse solutions using Apache Iceberg and S3
* Lead performance tuning across Snowflake, Airflow, and Iceberg environments
* Ensure platform reliability, observability, and scalability
* Drive adoption of cloud-native design patterns and best practices
* Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and business stakeholders
Requirements
* Strong experience in Solution Architecture for data platforms
* Deep expertise in Snowflake architecture
* Hands-on experience with Airflow / MWAA and dbt
* Strong knowledge of AWS data services (S3, EMR, PySpark)
* Experience designing Data Lakehouse architectures (Iceberg preferred)
* Expertise in performance tuning and optimisation
