Overview
The primary purpose of a site engineer is to ensure that construction projects are completed accurately and safely. They provide technical advice, manage staff on-site, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Site engineers oversee all on-site activities to ensure they align with the project’s design, specifications, and legal requirements. They also manage daily site activities, solve problems that arise during construction, and help keep the project running smoothly from start to finish.
Responsibilities
* Managing site and technology engineers and working closely with all SVD delivery team members
* Ensuring that site surveys and records are provided as required
* Working with project managers, site managers, supervisors and suppliers to coordinate, develop and review safe system compliance and other daily processes
* Ensure all on-site activities are recorded through daily diaries, production control schedules and photographs
* Reviewing drawings and raising technical queries relating to the design team
Essential knowledge, skills, and experience
* Notable experience delivering infrastructure projects in a site role
* Ability and willingness to guide, mentor and develop junior staff
* Strong written and oral communication skills
Desirable
* Experience in working on a similar project is desirable but not essential
Qualifications
* Civil Engineering related qualification (HNC, HND, BSc, MSc, BEng, Meng)
* SMSTS
* First Aid
Desirable qualifications
* Appointed Person, lifting training is an advantage
* Mental Health First Aid
* Fire Marshalling
