Job Title and Overview
Research Facilitator – North London Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN) within the Research Support Team. The Network aims to strengthen collaboration between researchers, NHS partners and wider community organisations. Research Facilitators promote collaboration across current and planned projects and support the setup and delivery of studies.
The post holder will work closely with researchers, primary care staff at GP practices, pharmacies, multi-disciplinary teams, NHS Trust R&D departments, and providers in community and wider care settings (e.g. care homes, charities, faith-based groups, prisons, and schools). In conjunction with the Agile Team, they will actively support study setup and delivery, identify recruiting sites, provide performance data support, ensure governance requirements are met, deliver training, and maintain positive relationships with local NHS and community organisations.
Focus includes leading or supporting NIHR RDN Portfolio studies across varied health and care settings, with flexible autonomous working across disciplines and the RRDN region. The post may involve line management responsibilities for a team of research delivery staff.
Responsibilities
* Lead on research delivery and/or research support for wider care settings, depending on regional need.
* Identify recruitment sites, support study setup, delivery, and follow-up for participants according to study protocols.
* Engage with stakeholders to promote research activity; facilitate governance and training; maintain collaborative relationships with public and multidisciplinary teams.
* Support performance data collection, interpretation and reporting to local and national centres.
* Provide leadership and, where applicable, line management for a team of research delivery staff.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: Leadership/management experience in a health care setting; knowledge of governance and legislative framework for clinical research (e.g., UK Policy Framework for Health and Care Research, UK Clinical Trials Regulations); experience in setup and delivery of clinical research studies in health and care settings.
* Essential: Experience in caring for patients/participants in research or in a customer-focused role; ability to interpret, verify and report data to local and national centres.
* Essential: Good IT skills (Web apps, MS Office and/or Google Hub); excellent planning, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work autonomously and motivate others; ability to travel for work.
* Desirable: Management/leadership training; driving licence; UK professional registration as applicable.
