Our client is a well-established and expanding heavy industry manufacturing company. Staffbase has been appointed to recruit for the position of Maintenance Engineer.
The successful candidate will work at our client's busy manufacturing plant near Stafford and will join the maintenance team to perform mechanical maintenance activities in a foundry, fettling shop, and machining plant.
The Role:
Reporting to the engineering manager, the Maintenance Engineer will undertake planned and reactive maintenance activities on a wide range of plant, machinery, and site facilities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Mechanical maintenance and repair of machinery such as conveyors, crushers, screens, furnaces, cooling plants, etc.
* Maintenance and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic machinery
* Welding and fabrication
* Basic electrical fault finding and repair of motors, contactors, sensors, relays, etc.
* Site facilities maintenance
* Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPM)
Candidate:
The Maintenance Engineer should have strong mechanical engineering skills and be proficient in fault finding and repair work. Electrical fault-finding skills are advantageous.
Preferred qualifications include NVQ Level 3 or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in heavy industry sectors such as foundry, recycling, quarrying, or aggregates is beneficial, but all applicants with the necessary skills will be considered.
Hours of Work:
4 days on, 4 days off (12-hour rotating day and night shifts)
Salary: £42,400 + overtime
