Job Description:
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to over 1.15 million people, expanding to 2.2 million with regional and national services.
This is a permanent, part-time position with flexible shifts within service hours Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.
The Glasgow and Clyde Adult Eating Disorder Service addresses complex needs of adults with moderate to severe eating disorders across GGC. It is a multidisciplinary team led by psychology, including psychiatry, clinical psychology, nursing, dietetics, and occupational therapy.
The team collaborates with service users and carers to identify and meet care needs, utilizing group and individual therapies in community and inpatient settings to promote recovery.
The post involves joining an experienced multidisciplinary team, supporting recovery by forming relationships with service users, and helping them gain control over their lives and decisions. The role emphasizes the value of lived experience in supporting others on their recovery journey.
The peer support worker aims to enhance recovery-oriented care and will be line-managed by a Band 6 Senior Eating Disorder Practitioner, with supervision from a designated clinician. The role is 0.5 WTE, flexible across three days, with hours from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. Job sharing may be considered.
Application details are available in the Candidate Information Packs.
