Hire Desk Manager
Location: East LondonWorking Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:30pmSalary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus bonus and benefits
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Hire Desk Manager to join our reputable plant hire company based in East London. As the Hire Desk Manager, you will oversee and lead a team of 5 hire desk staff, ensuring the efficient operation of our hire desk and delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership: Manage, motivate, and develop a team of hire desk coordinators to achieve performance targets and deliver excellent customer service.
* Hire Desk Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hire desk, including coordinating equipment hires, managing bookings, and ensuring timely deliveries and collections.
* Customer Service: Maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring their needs are met promptly and professionally. Handle any escalated customer queries or issues effectively.
* Staff Training and Development: Provide training, support, and guidance to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge of the hire industry.
* Stock Control: Monitor equipment availability, liaising with the operations team to ensure adequate stock levels and managing shortages.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all health and safety standards are met and maintained within the hire desk environment.
* Reporting: Prepare and present regular performance reports, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
* Continuous Improvement: Implement process improvements to streamline hire desk operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
* Budget Management: Assist in budget preparation and manage costs effectively to achieve financial targets.
* Supplier Relations: Liaise with suppliers to negotiate terms and ensure timely deliveries of equipment.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a similar role within the plant hire or construction industry.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Sound knowledge of plant and equipment hire processes.
* Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* Proficient in IT systems, including hire desk software.
* Attention to detail and a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations in relation to plant hire operations.
* Relevant qualifications in management or a related field would be advantageous.
