What the school offers its staff
We are a large four-form entry junior school. Each year group works as a team with a year leader who provides support for both curriculum and pastoral issues. Teamwork is a strength of the school at both year and subject level. We also have a dedicated inclusion and intervention team, including a child and family worker, a learning support manager, a mentor/nurture assistant, a behaviour lead, and an intervention assistant. This team targets support at children with special needs, underachievement, and vulnerabilities, offering various support to class teachers in meeting individual needs. Play leaders also support vulnerable children during lunchtime.
Our commitment is to raise standards academically and in children’s personal development, aligning with our vision to be a successful, happy school for children, staff, parents, and governors. Initiatives to develop parent partnerships, led by our deputy and assistant headteachers, are positively impacting school improvement. We regularly seek and act on parental feedback.
We are part of the Prosper Together MAT, working collaboratively to promote school improvement and provide extended services for pupils. Each school maintains its individual identity and control while benefiting from shared resources and CPD opportunities.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organization is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers, and trustees to share this commitment. Our recruitment process adheres to the "Keeping Children Safe in Education" guidelines. Employment offers are subject to checks including: childcare disqualification, DBS, medical assessments, online and social media checks, prohibition from teaching, right to work, and satisfactory references. Applicants must disclose any unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
