We are currently recruiting for experienced Support Workers on behalf of our client based in Leicestershire.
About the Role of a Support Worker:
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals to live independently, make informed choices, and achieve positive outcomes. You will provide person-centred support while promoting dignity, respect, independence, and inclusion.
Shift Patterns for the Support Worker:
Various shifts available, including:

8:00am – 3:00pm
*
10:00am – 6:00pm
*
2:00pm – 9:30pm
Key Responsibilities for the Support Worker:
*
Support service users to express their views, make informed decisions, and maintain their independence.
*
Assist individuals with daily living activities and personal development goals.
*
Support people with mental health needs and promote emotional wellbeing.
*
Encourage and assist with maintaining personal hygiene and good health.
*
Administer medication in accordance with policies and procedures.
*
Support access to education, employment, training, and community activities.
*
Help individuals maintain relationships with family and friends and develop social networks.
*
Assist with budgeting, shopping, cooking, cleaning, and household management.
*
Follow and review individual care and support plans, recording progress accurately.
*
Provide support to individuals who may present behaviours that challenge.
*
Maintain accurate records using IT systems and written documentation.
*
Handle financial transactions and maintain appropriate records where required.
*
Promote safeguarding and protect vulnerable adults from abuse or neglect.
*
Ensure compliance with health and safety, infection control, and organisational policies.
*
Respond appropriately to emergencies and health and safety concerns.
Requirements for the Support Worker:
*
Previous experience working as a Support Worker & Care Worker in a similar care setting.
*
Good understanding of person-centred care and support.
*
Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults.
*
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*
Ability to maintain accurate records and use basic IT systems.
*
Flexible approach to working shifts, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
*
NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care.
*
Experience supporting individuals with mental health needs, learning disabilities, or complex needs.
*
Medication administration training.
*
Full UK driving licence.
