Overview
Teaching Fellow in Agriculture at TieTalent. Location: Cirencester Campus; hybrid working. Salary: Grade 7: £34,610 - £41,064 pro rata per annum. Vacancy Type: Fixed Term contract, 12 months. Hours: Part Time, up to 28 Hours per week (0.8 FTE) available (minimum 0.2 FTE).
The Teaching Fellow will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality, professional and innovative teaching materials and resources, including land-based course design and development. Initial work includes design of teaching materials for the BSc Sustainable Agriculture with an international partner, with future development across Agriculture, Equine, Business, Environment and Land Property. Materials include teaching notes and interactive learning exercises, and must comply with international copyright and licensing requirements and other international standards. The post holder will also assess and develop teaching materials for compatibility across different platforms and media in other countries with partner institutions. The role may include some international travel and may involve teaching undergraduate or postgraduate students on the Cirencester campus in topics related to agriculture and food supply chains or related disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop high-quality, professional teaching materials and resources, prioritised for the Sustainable Agriculture undergraduate degree programme.
* Ensure teaching materials reflect current practices and incorporate the latest innovations in teaching and learning.
* Review materials for compliance with copyright, intellectual property and other legal or policy requirements (UK and international).
* Share and present teaching materials to UK and international partners in agreed formats and on appropriate platforms.
* Assist in planning, review, development and documentation of teaching materials for RAU degree programmes UK and internationally.
* Deliver teaching through lectures, tutorials, seminars, field excursions, practical exercises, and other modes; design, deliver and mark a range of assessments.
Skills and Qualifications
* Degree in agriculture, food or related land-based subject.
* Evidence of leading and delivering projects to time, quality and resource requirements.
* Good technical knowledge of agriculture and food systems.
* Experience in design and quality control of teaching materials.
* Ability to engage and inspire students to become independent learners.
* IT proficiency including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint; ability to develop competence in other technical and educational software.
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work within country-specific requirements and sensitivities.
