Our client is a UK-licensed business lending client.
They are establishing a new operational site in Milton Keynes, and are now seeking an experienced interim specialist to join the leadership team.
Role: Head of Operations (Interim / Temp-to-Perm)
We are looking for a highly capable Head of Operations to oversee the Milton Keynes operational team of nine staff members. This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving operational performance, ensuring robust controls, and supporting the growth of our SME lending and savings business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead, manage, and develop a team of 9 operational staff across lending and customer operations
2. Oversee the full lending operations lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, andpliance
3. Maintain strong first-line controls and ensure operational resilience across all processes
4. Drive process improvements, operational scalability, and change initiatives
5. Work closely with senior leadership to support strategic growth of the bank
6. Ensure high standards of customer experience aligned with SME and business customer needs
Required Experience & Skills
7. Proven leadership experience in lending operations within a bank or specialist lender specialising inmercial mortgage, bridging finance or asset-backedmercial loans.
8. Strong understanding of the end-to-end lending lifecycle
9. Knowledge of first-line controls, customer operations, and operational resilience frameworks
10. Demonstrated experience in enhancing processes, scaling operations, and delivering change
11. Confident operator in a high-growth, regulated banking environment
Regulatory Requirements
This position is:
12. A Certified Role under the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR)
13. Classified as a Material Risk Taker (MRT) under SMCR
14. Must have eligibility to work in UK
