Residential Team Leader – Children’s Home (Liskeard, Cornwall)
We are recruiting for a Residential Team Leader to join our children’s home in Liskeard, Cornwall.
Our home supports children aged 5–17 on admission, and you’ll be joining an experienced, passionate team in a calm, rural setting on the edge of Bodmin Moor. We pride ourselves on creating a home where children are respected, listened to, and actively involved in decisions that shape their daily lives. This role is based within a solo placement home, giving you a unique opportunity to provide focused, consistent care that truly changes a young person’s life.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Supporting the young person to develop healthy routines and life skills
* Attending appointments, supporting education, and encouraging positive learning experiences
* Helping with household tasks to maintain a warm, homely environment
* Updating and maintaining accurate electronic records
* Providing guidance to newer team members, supporting their learning and development
* Taking part in team meetings, supervisions, and contributing to a strong, supportive team culture
Our aim is to create a stable, nurturing home filled with positive experiences, laughter, fun, and learning. Through consistent care and therapeutic support, we help reduce challenging behaviours and teach healthier ways to cope.
Our practitioners are skilled in working with children who have experienced trauma, rejection, or instability, and we understand the impact these experiences can have on emotional and developmental needs.

A Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People is essential for this role.
Hours
You will work an average of 39 hours per week, which typically includes two to three sleep‑ins per week, paid at £50 per sleep‑in, in addition to your salary.

Requirements
* A Full UK Driving Licence
* Good written skills and confidence with IT
* Strong communication and active listening skillsThe ability to work both independently and within a team
* A calm, resilient approach in challenging situations
* Level 3/4 qualification in Children and Young People
* A commitment to ongoing development, including completing the Level 4 Diploma
