Principal Accountancy Assistant full-time permanent role at Grade 8 (£35,412 to £38,220), pay award due from April 2026. Part time hours will be considered We are looking to recruit a Principal Accountancy Assistant to join a busy and friendly team providing accountancy support to Children’s Services. You will be responsible for monitoring income and expenditure budgets and providing financial advice and support to a number of budget holders, particularly supporting SEND. You will have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s Grade C or above including Maths and English, and you will have, or be in the final stages of completing, the AAT qualification, or equivalent You will be able to use PC based information technology and have a good working knowledge of spreadsheets, preferably Excel. We are looking for someone who has good verbal, numerical reasoning and written communication skills, with the ability to produce accurate numeric work. You will be working flexibly in our offices in central Dudley or from home on a hybrid working basis and will benefit from the Council’s flexitime scheme.
