The Vacancy

What will your role look like?

As a DC Consultant within our Defined Contribution Consulting (DCC) Business Unit, you’ll be part of a team that’s recognised as a UK market leader. You’ll work with a diverse client base, including corporate and trustee bodies across various sectors, as well as local government pension schemes. This role offers the opportunity to shape strategic pensions advice, contribute to innovative solutions, and support the development of our consulting capabilities.

You’ll be based in one of our UK offices – London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, or Glasgow – and benefit from our hybrid working model, which supports both remote work and in-person collaboration in our modern, sociable office spaces.

Though this is a varied role, your key tasks will include:

1. Advising on DC corporate pension legislation, benefit design, adequacy, DEI, engagement, governance, and the provider market.
2. Delivering high-quality pensions advice to corporate clients, using strategic and innovative approaches.
3. Leading or supporting client relationships and managing workflow within client teams.
4. Contributing to business development activities, including tender writing, pitch preparation, and presentations.
5. Supporting the development of new services, ideas, and client collateral.
6. Consulting on client propositions and helping shape our future offering.
7. Coaching and mentoring team members to build consulting capabilities.
8. Ensuring compliance with professional standards and relevant regulations.

To enjoy and succeed in this role, you will have:

9. Experience in the pensions industry, particularly in advising corporate clients.
10. Knowledge of the UK DC provider market; familiarity with investment strategies is a plus.
11. Strong IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel.
12. Professional qualifications such as FFA, FIA, CFA, PMI, or equivalent.

Please note that as part of the recruitment process for this opportunity, candidates will be asked to create a short presentation.

We would also encourage applications from candidates who perhaps do not possess all the attributes and experience listed above but are competent with the majority and would be able to quickly develop the additional skills and experience required in post with our full support.

You’ll also bring:

13. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to consult and influence effectively.
14. A flexible, proactive, and innovative approach to client solutions.
15. Strong analytical and project management skills.
16. The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
17. Leadership qualities and commercial awareness.
18. A commitment to building relationships and working inclusively.

A more detailed list of requirements for this position is available within the role profile – which is available on request

In addition to a competitive salary and access to our profit share scheme, we offer:

19. A flexible selection of employee benefits, so you can choose a package that best matches your lifestyle and needs.
20. A collaborative and encouraging work environment where your thinking and ideas are encouraged.
21. On site mental health and wellbeing assistance.
22. A commitment to helping you develop both personally and professionally, with mentoring opportunities and access to our award-winning learning portal, Aspire.
23. Regular social activities, in addition to three days paid volunteering leave each year and a day’s leave to celebrate your birthday.
24. Hybrid working so you can enjoy the positive wellbeing of working from home as well as the benefits of meeting colleagues in our sociable, modern office environments – with the expectation of two ‘in-office’ days per week.
25. A flexible working window, allowing colleagues the freedom to work flexibly between the hours of 7am and 7pm.

Please note, we recruit on a rolling basis so early applications are recommended to avoid disappointment.
