An award-winning compressor distributor are looking for an Area Sales Manager to join their team. We are looking for someone based in South Yorkshire/Humberside with a strong compressed air background, excellent sales management, and technical sales skills.
The purpose of this position is to protect new and existing capital and service business, through excellent customer service. Good communication skills will be necessary to interact in all areas of the business.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement strategies to achieve short-, medium- and longer-term budgeted sales and margin.
2. Manage and develop compressed air capital and service sales.
3. Attain and develop new capital and service business.
4. Maintain an updated knowledge of competitor activity and plans, acting and making recommendations as necessary.
5. Manage and negotiate prices for new business within set parameters to achieve budgets and Company plans.
6. Always take responsibility for promotion of company and via all available medias.
7. Manage costs to achieve budgeted levels.
8. Represent the company with customers as needed, making visits as necessary.
9. Assist in the development of the annual budget where required.
10. Lead in all areas of business to resolve problems and reach a satisfactory outcome of supply, quality, liability, debt collection
11. Assist the company in driving capital and service product development
12. Assist and lead on site capital and service jobs where required
13. Preparation of technical information and quotations
Candidate Profile
14. Proficient in MS Office
15. Excellent leadership and management skills
16. High level of commercial awareness
17. Technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and / or in business or sales related area preferred.
18. Good negotiating and influencing capabilities at senior level
19. Ability to present, report and write to a high standard
20. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
21. Flexibility and adaptability to changing work requirements and multiple projects
