Job Summary
We are looking for a talented and driven Sous Chef to become a key part of our award-winning culinary team at The Crown Lodge Hotel. Working alongside our Head Chef, you'll help shape the daily running of the kitchen, ensuring our guests experience the exceptional standards of food and service that we are proud of. Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen with a focus on teamwork, clear communication, and consistency.
* Supervise, guide, and develop kitchen staff, creating a positive, supportive, and professional working environment.
* Assist in menu design and recipe development, ensuring creativity while maintaining the highest quality standards.
* Oversee food preparation and service, ensuring dishes are delivered on time and beautifully presented.
* Maintain excellent food safety and hygiene practices, leading by example.
* Manage stock levels and ordering to support smooth kitchen operations.
* Contribute ideas to keep our offering fresh, seasonal, and exciting.
* Step up and take charge of service in the absence of the Head Chef.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a Sous Chef or senior CDP role within a quality hospitality environment.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and support your team.
* A solid foundation in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen operations.
* Thorough knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
* Calm and confident under pressure, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
* A genuine passion for food, teamwork, and delivering memorable guest experiences.
