As a Playworker at our before and after-school clubs, you will have the opportunity to assist with a range of activities, including role play, arts and crafts, sports, disco's, and so much more! Your day-to-day role will be ever-changing, exciting, and full of laughter. You will be working at our Bedford Road Primary setting. Your shifts will be 7.30am-9.00am and 3.00pm-6.00pm Monday to Friday during term time. Additional hours may be available at our holiday clubs.
You will create a safe, fun, and fulfilling home from home environment for the children at breakfast and after-school club. We care about our children and know them really well, and we hope you will love this job as much as we do! Responsibilities:
* Ensure every individual child's needs are met
* Assist with day-to-day activities within the club
* Take ownership of the observation, assessments, and planning for your key children in line with EYFS and provide developmentally challenging next steps
* Ensure we encourage and praise children's development and achievements
* Understanding and following the requirements of the Ofsted voluntary and childcare register and early years register
* Follow all company policies - you need to know them, understand them, and implement them
* Completing registers
* Assisting in Fire/Safety drills
* Liaising with and communicating with parents in a calm, professional manner
* Ensuring the facilities are maintained and kept clean and tidy in line with company policy
* Minimising lost property by organising children's belongings in a suitable and tidy 'cloakroom' area
* Promote the services offered by Junior Adventures Group, including raising awareness of themed days and the upcoming holiday clubs
* Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health, and safety standards are met
Requirements:
* Level 1, 2, 3, or above qualification in Childcare/Early Years or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
* Experience working within a nursery/preschool/childminding environment
* A willingness to undertake relevant training in the future
* A passion for childcare and a genuine interest in child development
* Paediatric First Aid (can be gained whilst in employment)
