Job Description
The Internal Logistics Department (ILD) is responsible for ensuring that production lines receive the parts required to assemble vehicles. Operatives in this department will drive either a Tow Motor or Dolly Truck and will work on a two-shift rotating pattern within any of the production shops.
Toyota operates on a ‘Just in Time' system, meaning parts are delivered to the plant exactly when needed there is typically only one shift's worth of parts stored on-site. To manage stock levels efficiently, a Kanban system is used to track each part or group of small parts, ensuring minimum and maximum stock levels are maintained.
