📍 Cookstown | Site-Based

đź’Ľ Permanent | Full-time | 40 Hours per Week


ScaleX Talent Solutions is working with an innovative engineering business at the forefront of industrial robotics and hazardous environment solutions, to appoint a Stores & Purchasing Coordinator.


This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation that is transforming how industrial maintenance and refurbishment projects are delivered across the cement, metals, and energy sectors.


The Opportunity

As Stores & Purchasing Coordinator, you'll take ownership of stock control, purchasing, inventory management, and stores operations across the business.

Working closely with manufacturing, workshop, and project teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring materials, components, tools, and consumables are available when needed, sourced competitively, and managed efficiently.

This is a hands-on role offering significant variety and the opportunity to make a genuine impact within a growing engineering and manufacturing environment.


What You'll Be Doing

• Managing day-to-day purchasing activities in line with company procedures

• Sourcing competitively priced materials, components, consumables, and equipment

• Raising purchase orders and maintaining accurate purchasing records

• Monitoring stock levels and maintaining re-order points to prevent shortages

• Managing goods-in processes and resolving delivery discrepancies

• Processing job orders, issuing stock to projects, and managing returns-to-stock activities

• Maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting regular stock counts

• Leading annual stock takes and supporting cycle count programmes

• Managing tools, equipment, and asset tracking systems

• Maintaining stores areas to ensure they remain organised, efficient, and compliant

• Preparing materials and equipment for workshop and project teams

• Supporting supplier management and monitoring supplier performance

• Producing reports on inventory levels, purchasing activity, equipment status, and stock accuracy

• Supporting logistics activities, local collections, and urgent site deliveries when required


What We're Looking For

Essential

• Previous experience in stores, inventory, stock control, purchasing, procurement, or materials management roles

• Experience working within manufacturing, engineering, industrial, production, warehouse, or similar operational environments

• Strong understanding of stock control processes and inventory accuracy

• Experience raising purchase orders and managing supplier relationships

• Confident using ERP, stock management, or inventory control systems

• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

• Full UK driving licence


Desirable

• Experience within engineering, machinery manufacturing, fabrication, industrial services, or related sectors

• Experience using ERP or stock management systems within manufacturing environments

• Supplier performance management experience

• Lean Manufacturing or 5S knowledge

• Experience driving inventory reduction or cost-saving initiatives

• Logistics, materials handling, or warehouse operations experience

• Forklift licence
