Senior Azure DevOps Engineer | SC Cleared | Inside IR35
6 Month Contract
Hybrid - occasional requirement in the office as and when needed
We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to join our high profile public sector client on an initial 6 month contract.
This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations and technical backlog of the Azure platform where applications are hosted. The team will have responsibility for running certain features in the platform, such as deploying golden images, managing subscriptions or upgrades of Kubernetes.
Whilst you will not be responsible for operations of applications or data which run on the platform, you will be responsible for managing the 'cloud platform' components of some solutions, providing strategic guidance and growing the team.
You will work alongside the website team on SiteCore CMS system and liaise with external partners who support the website content.
Responsibilities include:
1. Experience in IT operations is important for this role. They have strict change controls to manage systems in a controlled way, and experience in running this type of service is essential, preferably with cloud.
2. You will work alongside key stakeholders from the business and technology, so strong communication skills are essential.
3. You will champion continuous delivery in software engineering through use of Dev/Ops practices and your industry knowledge.

Essential Criteria
4. Experience of operating platforms in a controlled environment with strict change control.
5. Experience in managing and working with Kubernetes environments and observability tools.
6. Experience with Azure monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
7. Preference to work as part of a team rather than individually.
8. Expert Microsoft Azure and CAF knowledge.
9. Microsoft Azure administration skills / certification.
10. Windows / Linux Admin.
11. Automation scripting (. Terraform).
12. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
13. Be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, organisation, self-motivation and a desire for self-improvement.
14. Ability to plan, schedule and manage a demanding workload.
Desirable Criteria
15. Good .NET and C# skills.
16. SSIS skills and data integration/migration software.
17. In-depth experience of solution delivery using the full Software Development Lifecycle. This should include experience of working with the Agile and DevOps methodologies working with continuous delivery, automatic regression testing, TDD and monitoring.
18. Good knowledge of Azure Networks.
19. Experience of Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365 environments.
20. Experience with website fundamentals including Content Delivery Networks (such as Akamai) and Content Management Systems (such as Sitecore).
