An opportunity has arisen to join our Catering team at our care home as a Kitchen Assistant. The main responsibility of the role is to provide general food preparation and cleaning services for the kitchen.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Preparing and serving food
2. Preparing residents' meal trolleys and trays to the correct and specified standard prior to serving meals
3. Participating in general kitchen duties as required
4. Ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times within the kitchen
All posts are subject to two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS or PVG disclosure.
About You
The ideal candidate may have previous kitchen experience, but this is not essential as full training will be provided. As a Kitchen Assistant, you should have good communication skills, the ability to work well both within a team and independently, and the capacity to prioritize tasks. A flexible approach, energy, and hard work are important. Good time management, record keeping, and organizational skills are also essential.
A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable, or you should be willing to undertake relevant training to obtain this qualification.
