As we continue our journey of growth and expansion to serve the new era of nuclear energy, Boccard, a leading specialist in engineering, manufacturing, construction, and maintenance in the nuclear energy industry, is looking for a Project Controls Engineer. The role will be based at Boccard's Bristol city centre office.
The successful candidate will work within the Project Control team to ensure our projects at the Nuclear New Build Project at Hinkley Point C are delivered on time and within budget. The position involves supporting the Programme Manager with reporting, document management, and project planning across a portfolio of exciting projects.
Role:
* Support multiple projects by ensuring best practices to meet specified requirements and targets.
* Contribute to the delivery programme baseline and manage project control processes, including requirements capture, planning, cost, risk, trend analysis, and change control.
* Assist in managing the project risks and opportunities plan, implementing mitigation measures or other appropriate actions.
* Maintain project documentation to the required standards within the management system.
* Manage changes in estimation and planning to support contract change applications.
* Support the Project Management Office lead in delivering strategy and capability development.
* Provide project performance data, including critical path analysis, float erosion, milestones, CPI, SPI, and EVA, on a monthly basis.
* Assist in preparing monthly client and supplier reports.
* Support internal audits to ensure procedural compliance and implement corrective actions as needed.
Experience and qualifications:
Applicants should be educated to degree level in an engineering discipline, detail-oriented, organized, with excellent planning skills, and proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Query, Power BI). Curiosity and a willingness to learn are essential. Experience in an engineering or technical environment, preferably in the nuclear industry, is advantageous.
