The Role
Deal Advisory Tax provides market leading services to both Financial and Corporate investors. We have teams focused on clients in our three performance groups of Financial Services, Corporates, and National Markets. We are a national and connected team, working and learning together.
* Financial Services: We work with private equity, infrastructure, and real estate funds, as well as institutional investors like sovereign wealth funds and pension funds. Our clients have UK, European, and Global investment strategies.
* Corporates: We support FTSE 100 and 250 businesses with strategic acquisitions, carve outs, de-mergers, disposals, and joint ventures in the UK and cross-border.
* National Markets: We work across the UK with mid-market corporates and PE funds to grow local economies.
Our team offers advisory services across the deal spectrum, including buy-side due diligence, structuring, sell-side vendor assistance, refinancing, and listings, handling deals from £10m to over £10bn.
We focus on understanding historical tax issues and structuring transactions to maximize value, often involving multiple countries, taxes, and work streams.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with Partners and Directors on complex transactions to deliver high-quality advice
* Support in pursuing new opportunities, proposals, and pitches
* Develop and maintain client relationships within Deal Advisory
* Act as a key point of contact for clients, legal advisers, and internal teams
* Coach and develop colleagues, collaborate with peers, and pursue continuous learning
* Prepare and oversee detailed technical advice on UK and international tax issues
* Analyze tax documents/data, highlighting key issues and their commercial impact
* Work with UK and overseas tax specialists, critically analyzing their input
* Stay updated on UK and OECD tax developments
* Understand financial models from a tax perspective
* Contribute to Deal Advisory Tax thought leadership
The Person
* Qualified CTA, ACA/CA, or equivalent
* Ambitious, enthusiastic, with a keen interest in transactions
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Solid UK corporate tax knowledge and awareness of other tax and accounting matters
* Excellent analytical, project management, and commercial skills
* Proactive in developing business opportunities
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
* Leadership qualities to build and develop teams
* Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
