About the Role

Due to promotion, Fortis Trust is seeking to appoint an outstanding and strategic Assistant Principal: Teaching, Learning & Curriculum to join the leadership team at Bradfields Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader who is passionate about inclusive education, curriculum development, and raising academic standards for all learners.

As Assistant Principal: Teaching, Learning & Curriculum, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience at Bradfields Academy. You will be responsible for leading on all aspects of curriculum, teaching and learning, and SEND provision, ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality, inclusive education. You will work closely with the Vice Principal: Teaching, Learning & Curriculum, the Principal, and the Executive Principal/CEO to drive continuous improvement and innovation across the academy.

Bradfields Academy was rated Outstanding by Ofsted in its most recent inspection and continues to lead in innovation and inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities

* Strategic leadership of curriculum, teaching and learning, and SEND provision, including acting as SENDCO for the academy.
* Overseeing curriculum planning, assessment, and quality assurance to ensure high standards and inclusive learning opportunities for all students.
* Managing staff and resources within the curriculum and SEND teams, including Subject Leaders, Teaching Assistants, and the Transition Team.
* Leading on student transition, referrals, and work experience, ensuring smooth progression and suitable destinations for all learners.
* Supporting the development and delivery of Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and Early Career Teacher (ECT) programmes.
* Monitoring, analysing, and reporting on academic standards and student progress.
* Developing and implementing academic policies, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
* Building strong relationships with students, staff, parents, carers, and external agencies.
* Leading and delivering staff training and professional development.
* Deputising for the Vice Principal as required.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
* Substantial experience in a middle leadership role, with responsibility for SEND and/or curriculum, with a proven record of raising academic standards and improving outcomes.
* Experience of curriculum planning, assessment, quality assurance, and managing staff and resources.
* In-depth knowledge of SEND policy, provision, and statutory requirements.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
