A client within the Public Sector based in Merseyside is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their Projects team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, permanent position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a construction or refurbishment project environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to support the commercial management of refurbishment and extension projects from contract award through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered within budget, on schedule, and in line with contractual requirements.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Managing the commercial performance of allocated projects from contract award through to final account
• Overseeing multiple refurbishment and extension projects across education and healthcare buildings within the public sector
• Producing accurate monthly financial reporting including cashflow forecasts, cost reviews, and adjusted costs
• Reviewing and negotiating contracts and subcontracts to minimise risk and ensure suitable commercial arrangements
• Providing commercial advice and support to Contracts Managers, Project Managers, and Site Managers
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator, experience working for a main contractor, and a full UK driving licence.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously
• Experience working on refurbishment or extension projects within education or healthcare buildings
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering from £55,000 to £70,000 per annum.
