Responsibilities
Primary:
* Fulfill all responsibilities of the Patient Care Specialist as described in the specific job description.
* Maintain friendly, cordial relations with all employees, building confidence and credibility.
* Provide clinical and administrative support, adhering to company policies and procedures.
* Uphold the Core Values: teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality of care, and friendliness.
* Conduct activities consistent with department expectations and compliant with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA.
* Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake.
* Perform triage by checking vitals, blood draws, injections, etc.
* Observe patients, chart, report changes, and take necessary actions.
* Assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
* Support providers in minor procedures and physicals.
* Maintain supplies and equipment.
* Assist patients utilizing Virtual Medicine Providers.
* Ensure accurate, timely completion of patient charts and forwarding as appropriate.
* Arrange referrals and obtain pre-authorizations as directed.
* Maintain positive relations with clients and staff, promoting a respectful, professional environment.
* Perform federal and non-federal DOT, BAT, and Drug Screen exams.
* Perform physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions as specified.
* Comply with company standards and promote confidentiality.
* Complete mandatory compliance training.
* Maintain cleanliness of the office environment.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Secondary:
* Assist with clerical tasks such as patient check-in and data entry.
* Verify insurance eligibility and relay billing information.
* Answer calls and communicate professionally.
Supporting Telehealth:
* Prepare patient charts via virtual communication.
* Assist with follow-ups, including pharmacy requests, paperwork, scheduling, and clinical calls.
Additional Requirements:
Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent, current CPR license, and at least 1 year of experience as a certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic in a clinical setting, preferably urgent care.
Level 2-4: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic, current CPR license, with experience requirements increasing with level.
Additional duties include scheduling, ordering, training, and other tasks as assigned by leadership.
*Must obtain and activate CPR license within 7 days of hire.
Experience and Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Preferably, at least 1 year of relevant clinical experience and active licensure or certification.
