About the role

We have a brand-new opportunity for an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our team based in our Glasgow office.

It's an exciting time to join our Glasgow office. It was established in 2016 to provide a local presence on our projects. Now, it houses an abundance of key sector expertise and knowledge that supports projects across the UK.

We are supporting transformational and sustainable change with major projects and are eager to speak with candidates who have experience in the building services sector.

As an Associate, you will be facing clients, developing your leadership skills, responding to our clients’ needs, producing reports, specifications and guidance or overseeing testing and commissioning activities. We work closely as a team to ensure we achieve the best results and deliver a consistent high-quality service for our clients.

In this key and varied role, you can expect to:

* Lead electrical services design on large projects and lead overall MEP on small to medium-sized projects within the office.
* Act as a technical electrical lead.
* Responsible for dealing successfully with Clients and other professionals.
* Awareness of consultant appointment conditions.
* Define and agree brief with the Client.
* Competently represents Hoare Lea at project meetings.
* Manage and prioritise the workload of a project team including specialist groups.
* Host and chair internal project team meetings.
* Contribute to the professional development of individual team members.
* Actively lead self and identify opportunities and provide support for the career development of others.

About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

* Ability to deal with difficult situations in a non-adversarial manner.
* Qualified and recognised in industry with Chartered status.
* Strong technical knowledge in electrical engineering and good understanding of other disciplines.
* IT literate with a technical understanding of relevant IT packages.
* Excellent written and spoken English skills.
* Excellent organisational and planning skills to work effectively to timescales and deadlines.
* Positively lead a team and proactively support and motivate team members.
* Develop effective client and fellow professional relationships for future business growth.
