The team also play a key role in supporting Partners and Shared Services through producing timely and accurate performance information.
The Role:
We've an exciting opportunity for an Analyst to join our friendly and dynamic team, providing actionable data and insight to Hampshire County Council and our partner organisations. What you’ll do:
Analysis:
1. Provide analysis of (not limited to) transactional data, customer contact data, KPIs, internal and external intelligence and benchmarking data, identifying root causes of trends and events
2. Translate data into statistically relevant information that will drive data-based decision making. Develop and utilise qualitative information to contextualise quantitative data and produce insights
3. Identify and review emerging trends within data, to feed into medium and long-term strategic decision making
4. Work with Lead Analyst mentor to create insight that drives forward the functional area strategy
Communication Skills:
5. Strong communication skills and ability to turn data and analysis into meaningful narratives and presentations
6. Provide some narrative and support for the creation of stories for performance paper / board paper content (and all other projects)
7. Creation of reports translating analysis into clear, concise, and logical documentation
8. Confidence to work with operational managers within the IBC
Collaboration:
9. Work alongside the Head of Insight to ensure timely and accurate analysis is prepared for the OPGs
10. Engage and work collaboratively across the Engagement team structure
11. Access and utilise external benchmarks to support analysis of performance against similar functions / sectors externally and identify where performance could be improved
12. Support the Lead Analysts to work with and influence Operational Managers and partners
Service Delivery:
13. Liaise with the Performance Manager to plan effective utilisation of the Senior Data Specialist to meet operational requirements of reporting and analysis
14. Track impact of changes / developments in systems and processes to measure impact and success against hypotheses and delivering return on investment
15. Ensure robust quality assurance governance for all reporting and analytics output
What we’re looking for:
We're looking for a confident and knowledgeable Analyst to help shape the future of our service. This role’s focus is Finance and is in the Engagement team within the IBC. As an Analyst in this area, you'll interpret data and provide insight to key stakeholders across our business, identifying trends and telling stories with data to create action.
You'll be passionate about how data can help drive real change throughout our customer journeys. Ideally, you'll be experienced in Office 365 and PowerBI as well as SAP, however this isn't essential as training can be given.
This is a chance to draw on your experience and expertise, helping services to build a better understanding of the motivations, views and attitudes of our customers and using this evidence to help deliver our strategic direction.
