Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Completion of a competency-based workbook or equivalent relevant experience to vocational level 3
2. care certificate
Desirable criteria
3. Relevent short courses to undertake clinical care duties
Technical Skills Competencies /Knowledge
Essential criteria
4. Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative.
5. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Desirable criteria
6. Understanding of basic physiology e.g. normal vital signs, fluid balance, nutritional requirements etc.
7. Competent in setting up and maintaining sterile fields - be able to check sterility and handle instruments required for a procedure
8. Diathermy- Electrosurgery competent
9. Venepuncture
10. Knowledge of care and related procedures, clinical observations, relevant legislation;
Experience
Essential criteria
11. Ability to adapt and learn in a health care environment
Desirable criteria
12. Previous experience of working clinically within NHS environment
13. Experience of working in gynaecology
14. experience of working within outpatients
