A specialist engineering workshop is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of mechanical equipment used across several industries, including rail, marine, power generation, and oil and gas, as well as a number of smaller sectors.
The organisation provides technical support to customers across the UK and Ireland within these industries. In addition to developing new-build solutions alongside original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), the company offers comprehensive aftermarket services.
The Role:
+Disassembly, inspection, assessment, reassembly, and testing of mechanical equipment such as gearboxes, fluid couplings, pumps, couplers, transmissions, and cooling systems.
+Interpreting and understanding technical drawings in order to identify components, understand system operation, and assist with fault diagnosis.
+Working to detailed technical specifications while maintaining accuracy and compliance with required tolerances, using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
Key Skills and Experience:
+Minimum two years mechanical fitting, preferably for rotating equipment
+Mechanical aptitude as well as significant experience of working in an engineering environment is essential
+Preferably time-served apprentice trained, or other relevant qualification
