Health Care Assistant - Children's Community Nursing Team
THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 9 MONTHS DUE TO MATERNITY COVER.

As part of the Children's Community Nursing Team, the post holder will provide care and support to children in their homes or schools who have complex health care needs, including life‑limiting or life‑threatening conditions.
You will be responsible for carrying out designated work that often involves direct patient care. This care will be delegated by trained staff. The post‑holder will be expected to work under indirect supervision of trained staff or as a lone worker.
Shift patterns may involve a mixture of days, nights and weekends.
Main duties of the job
The position holder will be responsible for caring for children with complex health care needs in the community setting, either at home or at school. This is an extremely rewarding area of practice, caring for children with life‑limiting or life‑threatening conditions. The post holder will provide hands‑on nursing care to these children following training and assessment of competence in various nursing skills.
The post holder will be required to be caring, compassionate, dedicated and flexible in approach. The ability to work well on one’s own initiative and within a small team is also expected. The post holder will need to work shifts, including unsociable hours and nights.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
