Opportunity
You will be a permanent Lead Senior Project Manager, actively supporting our growing project management team on major projects such as Northern Power House Rail, Eastern Routes Partnership, North West & Central framework, Core Valley Lines, Trans‑Pennine Route Upgrade and Cardiff Crossrail.
Role
Your key responsibilities include leading multidisciplinary design integration, mentoring junior Project Managers, managing commercial success, and driving health and safety practices across the team.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team to deliver technically sound project management deliverables, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements.
* Prepare, check and maintain project management information that enables Amey Consulting commissions to be delivered whilst satisfying overarching criteria of quality, cost and programme.
* Oversee the actions of junior staff undertaking similar tasks and take responsibility for their actions.
* Responsible for the commercial success of projects within your portfolio, controlling budgets and managing costs associated with deliverables.
* Liaise with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attend progress meetings and respond to queries.
* Significantly contribute to bid preparation and general work‑winning function.
* Assume people‑management responsibilities when required by the business.
* Drive effective health and safety practices within the team.
Qualifications
* Developed experience in senior project management, gained in an equivalent role.
* Experience in managing health, safety and welfare tasks, aligned with Amey’s Integrated Management System and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
* Capable of acting as day‑to‑day main project management contact for a project under the commission terms.
* Can take ownership of preparing and checking deliverables to an acceptable standard.
* Highly experienced with project management software and analytical tools.

* Demonstrates good commercial awareness.
* Demonstrates understanding of interface management.
* Successful completion of a professional review or end‑point assessment resulting in the award of Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent licence.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate subject.
* Full membership of the Association for Project Management.
* Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status with the Association for Project Management.
