This is a hybrid role, primarily working from home.
We require candidates with at least 5 years' experience in parking and 2 years in customer service or administration.
This role involves acting as a cover officer on secondment to assist with increased workload.
Purpose of Job
The post holder will investigate and respond to challenges, representations, and appeals related to Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs), vehicle removals, and Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs), ensuring compliance with Lambeth policies, procedures, and legislative responsibilities. They will produce high-quality responses, meet productivity targets, and work under strict deadlines. The role requires the ability to evaluate evidence and make balanced judgments.
This position is based on a career grade from SC6 to SO1, with progression possible upon meeting experience and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Prioritize and manage workload effectively in response to changing demands.
* Investigate disputes against PCNs/FPNs, assess evidence, and communicate decisions clearly to motorists.
* Handle transfer of liability, payment inquiries, and representations with payments attached.
* Respond to correspondence following best practices and in plain English.
* Meet or exceed daily performance standards for quality and quantity.
* Process refunds, charge certificates, and liaise with the County Court for Witness Statements.
* Coordinate with Debt Collection or Bailiff Agents to resolve disputes and manage debt recovery within legal frameworks.
Experience
* Minimum 2 years in customer service or administration, including formal correspondence.
* Experience analyzing data and conducting investigations.
* Experience working in a target-driven environment with effective workload management.
* Proficiency in computer systems and databases.
Knowledge
* Understanding of services within the Environment portfolio.
* Knowledge of key systems such as Liberator.
* Understanding of relevant legislation and statutory processes, especially in high-contact areas like parking.
* Strong command of plain English in verbal and written communication.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
