Job Description:
About the role
The post holder will provide a dedicated AMHP response during daytime working hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The role is supported by backup and contingency rotas from other AMHPs across the Adult service in the borough. The AMHP service is embedded within the community mental health team based at Humphrey House.
The main purpose of this AMHP post is to deliver an effective service to meet the needs of Bury residents, including those in wider geographic areas, in accordance with Bury council’s statutory responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 1983.
The role involves managing referrals within the scope of the rota, which may include completing multiple assessments and occasionally working outside of regular hours. Bury council supports work-life balance through a robust Time off in Lieu (TOIL) policy.
You will be expected to maintain and enhance professional standards through personal development and training, including regular supervision, and to uphold the principles of the Mental Health Act and related legislation.
Normal working hours are 37 hours per week, with possible rota-based shifts depending on service needs.
