Job Description:
Are you looking for a rewarding role within an intersectional feminist organisation? If so, we have an incredible opportunity for you to join our team as a Multiple Disadvantage Refuge Worker.
We exist to end the harm caused by gender-based violence. Our mission is to prevent violence and abuse while providing services that meet the individual needs of survivors, particularly women and children. Our work is holistic and empowering, supporting survivors to achieve independent lives free from abuse.
Our core values, developed in consultation with staff and service users, are rooted in feminism and intersectionality. We are committed to being survivor-led, trauma-informed, empowering, diverse, anti-racist, and anti-discriminatory.
About the Service
The Multiple Disadvantage Refuge Worker role focuses on providing specialist support services to women in refuge with multiple needs, including experiences of domestic or sexual violence, mental illness, or substance use issues. You will liaise with partner agencies to ensure high standards of service aligned with our organizational goals.
About the Role
As a Multiple Disadvantage Refuge Worker, you will work with women across 7 Pan London boroughs. Your responsibilities include devising support plans addressing their immediate practical and emotional needs, initiating recovery, conducting risk assessments, creating safety plans, and identifying needs such as benefits access, budgeting, and resettlement pathways. Promoting social inclusion, independence, and personal resilience, along with building support networks and encouraging engagement with other services, are also key aspects of this role.
About You
We seek someone with relevant experience in providing specialist support to women and families with multiple needs. Experience in casework supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse, along with multi-agency collaboration and professionalism, are essential. While not all listed skills are required, interpersonal skills, passion, commitment, quick learning, and collaboration are highly valued. For more information or guidance on applying, please contact our recruitment team.
How to Apply
If you are passionate about supporting survivors of gender-based violence and meet the outlined requirements, we encourage you to contact us for more information or to apply.
