Role: English Teacher
Academy: Outwood Academy Ormesby
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: £32,916–£51,048 (M1–U3)
Working Pattern: 1.0 FTE, Part-time also considered
Responsibilities
* Implement and use a wide range of teaching and learning strategies within the classroom.
* Apply Assessment for Learning techniques to continually improve student performance.
* Use student level data to identify areas for development and raise standards.
* Stay current on curriculum developments in the subject area.
* Maintain high expectations for all students and communicate with students and parents orally and in writing.
* Collaborate with the team, sharing good practice and demonstrating creativity in problem solving.
Qualifications
* Degree in an appropriate discipline related to English.
* Teaching qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Recent and relevant teaching experience, including assessment at Key Stage 3 and 4.
* Proficiency in standard computer packages (Word, Excel, email).
* Professionalism, a pleasant and sympathetic demeanor, and awareness of safeguarding issues.
