Joining us as Deputy Post Office Manager, you’ll work closely with the Post Office Manager in the effective day-to-day running of the Post Office. In this varied role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all known discrepancies are correctly recorded and levels are monitory weekly. You’ll monitor stock and cash daily to ensure that they are correct as well as complying with all current legislation in accordance with the conduct of a post office, including compliance, risk assessments, manual handling etc. In addition to legislation, you will also make sure that internal process and policies are adhered to and ensure that all colleagues are aware of their legal obligations. You’ll identify any requirements for training for colleagues as required. You will be responsible for the health, safety and wellbeing of your team, ensuring accidents are recorded correctly and the work environment is well maintained to a high standard. You will secure storage areas to prevent unauthorised access and move all stock to the correct storage following delivery. Through your role, you’ll be helping to ensure that the highest standards of Customer Service are consistently delivered. This will include making sure that customers are made aware of all related products and services using appropriate selling skills and enabling informed choices, as well as managing customer queries, escalating where necessary. Part of your role will involve coaching and training of your team to enable them to reach their full potential. In the absence of the Manager, you’ll have full responsibility for the effective operation of the Post Office. How will I know if I am right for this role? Essential to this role, will be your prior post office experience. You’ll be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of post office process and procedures.
