Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of patients with additional needs? Join our passionate team at the Dorset Primary Care Dental Service and be part of something truly special.
Get in touch to arrange an informal visit to our Special Care Dentistry clinic, based at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester, or our new, purpose-built, 6-chair clinic in Poole at a time that suits your schedule. Meet some of the team, discuss your experience, and explore the next steps in your community dentistry career with us.
This role involves delivering a combination of special care and paediatric dentistry for referred patients, many with Additional Needs. It includes some management responsibilities, supporting clinical colleagues. You'll provide high-quality dental care to adults and children with various Additional Needs and/or disabilities, including medically compromised patients, anxious children, and those in their homes, nursing, and care settings.
Main duties of the job
Deliver comprehensive oral health care to those who need it most, including individuals with disabilities and Additional Needs. Offer a full range of NHS oral health services, performing treatments under local anaesthesia, managing behaviour, and administering sedation or general anaesthesia if qualified. Your expertise in pain and anxiety management will be essential.
Ideally, you will have advanced knowledge demonstrated by postgraduate qualifications and/or relevant experience in Special Care or Paediatric Dentistry, contributing to service planning, development, and performance monitoring.
Based in one of our welcoming Dorset clinics, with occasional travel to other locations (domiciliary, GA where appropriate), you'll work in a supportive, specialised environment. If you're committed to exceptional, compassionate dental care, we want to hear from you to discuss your future with us.
This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact, grow professionally, and be part of a team that values dedication and compassion.
