Job Title: Mechanical Inspector
Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours:
1. Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30
2. Friday: 07:30 - 14:00
(40 hours per week)
Salary:
Up to £17.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
Reports to: Inspection Team Leader

Their core competencies include deep hole drilling, honing, forged piston manufacturing, and advanced coating technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
7. Inspect mechanical components and assemblies using a variety of precision measuring tools
8. Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
9. Verify dimensional accuracy using hand-held tools, height gauges, bore gauges, and surface finish testers
10. Operate or assist with the operation of CMM (ideally Mitutoyo) for inspection routines
11. Record inspection results and complete associated documentation accurately
12. Work to quality control standards, preferably AS9100
13. Communicate effectively with the wider production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
14. Advanced Apprenticeship or Higher Education Qualification in Mechanical Engineering preferred
15. Previous experience in a Mechanical or Quality Inspector role within a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment is essential
Skills & Knowledge:
16. Proficient in the use of inspection tools and equipment
17. Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
18. Solid Microsoft Office skills (especially Word and Excel)
19. Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards
20. Detail-oriented with strong communication and time management abilities
