Offshore Service Engineer role at James Fisher and Sons plc in the offshore services sector. Permanent position based in Great Yarmouth.


The Company

ScanTech Offshore Ltd provides a range of rental equipment, including air compressors, steam generators and rig cooling services, and designs, installs and commissions bespoke heat suppression safety systems. The company supplies qualified personnel for operating, servicing and maintaining rental equipment, delivering safety and quality across international operations from UK locations (Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth) and Western Australia (Perth). ScanTech Offshore is a market leader in well test support, offering tailored engineering capabilities to meet regulatory, quality and safety standards.


The Role

Scantech Offshore are looking for Offshore Engineers to join their team on a permanent basis. The role involves significant travel and offshore work on an ad-hoc basis; flexibility is essential. The purpose of the Offshore Technician is to operate, service and maintain the hire fleet in accordance with Scantech Offshore maintenance procedures.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

* Preparation of equipment to meet Hire Office requirements
* Ensuring service procedures and standards are followed in accordance with company guidelines
* Maintaining safety standards as per Occupational Health & Safety Regulations
* Packaging, maintenance and operation of company equipment both onshore and offshore as required, following company service guidelines and procedures
* Completion of service reports, minimum spares stock and handover sheets as required following company procedures
* Maintain livery, decals & signage
* Calibrate relevant safety devices
* Carry out third-party inspections
* Pressure test hoses when required
* Working safely as per Occupational Health & Safety Regulations
* Maintaining a professional and courteous approach to customers and colleagues at all times

Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Manager within the timeframe specified, in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are deemed competent to fulfil them.


Qualifications/Skills/Experience

Essential

* NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Qualification or equivalent
* Experience of working in an offshore or overseas environment
* Computer literate (Word & Excel)
* Offshore Survival training
* Ability to handle a variety of tasks and priorities in accordance with business requirements
* Mechanical experience – automotive, diesel engines, heavy plant, etc.

Preferred

* Ability to handle a variety of tasks and priorities in accordance with business requirements
* Quality assurance awareness training
* Diesel engine training / shutdown systems
* Pressure testing awareness training
* Manual handling awareness training
* COSHH awareness training
* Work at heights awareness training
* Risk assessment training
* Offshore medical certificate
* Slips, trips & fall awareness training
* Steam boiler operating training
* Air compressor operator training
* H2S awareness training
* Experienced diesel or steam boiler mechanic


The Person

You will have the ability to establish a good rapport with clients onsite along with strong communication skills (verbal and written). Strong adaptability and problem-solving skills are essential. Offshore work is not a set pattern, so flexibility is required to go offshore on an ad hoc basis as the business requires.
