A well-established and highly regarded building services consultancy based in Magherafelt is seeking to appoint an Electrical Engineer at Intermediate or Senior level as part of its continued growth. This is a design‑focused role within an MEP consultancy environment, offering exposure to a varied project portfolio across the UK & Ireland and strong long-term career development prospects.
Your new role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of electrical building services designs from concept through to construction,missioning and handover, working closely with mechanical engineers, BIM teams and senior leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Design and development of electrical building services systems in line with client briefs and project requirements
2. Preparation of design reports, specifications, drawings, schedules and technical documentation
3. Carrying out and reviewing electrical calculations, ensuringpliance with current standards and regulations
4. Reviewing work produced by junior engineers and providing technical support and mentoring
5. Supporting senior engineers and associates in the delivery and management of projects
6. Involvement in pre‑design costing, design development, and preparation of tender documentation and reports
7. Attendance at project meetings and undertaking site inspections during installation,missioning and handover stages
8. Ensuring fullpliance with internal QA, environmental, health & safety and project management procedures
What you'll need to succeed
This role would suit an Electrical Engineer with experience in a building services consultancy or design‑led contractor environment, who is keen to work on technically challenging projects within a collaborative team.
9. Proven experience in electrical building services design
10. Strong knowledge of UK & ROI electrical standards and regulations
11. Experience coordinating designs within a multidisciplinary team
12. Degree or third‑level qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
13. Goodmunication skills and confidence working with clients and project teams
14. An interest in sustainable and low‑energy building design
