This role sits within a specialist Regulatory Legal team, working as part of a broader, highly regarded legal function supporting complex and evolving financial services activity across the UK and Europe. The team is made up entirely of regulatory lawyers who are deeply embedded in the business, operating as trusted advisers on high‑impact regulatory issues.

As a senior regulatory lawyer, you will provide non‑contentious financial services regulatory advice to business teams and internal stakeholders, helping them navigate legal risk while enabling commercial objectives.
Your work will include:
* Advising on UK and European financial services regulation across a broad regulatory perimeter
* Supporting regulatory change and implementation projects, from impact assessment through to delivery
* Advising on new products and activities, including participation in internal approval and governance committees
* Interpreting and applying complex regulatory frameworks and translating them into clear, practical guidance
* Contributing to regulatory watch activity, policy development and internal know‑how
* Providing training on regulatory topics to legal colleagues and business stakeholders
* Coaching and mentoring more junior members of the regulatory legal team
* Managing relationships with key stakeholders and, where appropriate, external counsel
The scope is primarily UK‑focused, with meaningful involvement in European legislation and cross‑border issues.
About you
You will be:
* A qualified lawyer with strong experience in non‑contentious financial services regulation
* Comfortable advising on a range of UK and EU regulatory regimes (for example MiFID II, EMIR, CSDR, PSD2, SFTR, ESG‑related regulation and UK regulators’ rules)
* Experienced in regulatory change and implementation projects within a financial services environment
* Commercial, pragmatic and confident engaging with senior stakeholders
* A strong communicator who can demystify complex regulation
* Interested in being part of a team that values collaboration, quality and continuous improvement
