WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Commercial Leadership
Own the full commercial cycle - from procurement strategies through to final account settlements
Prepare and present cost reports and CVRs directly to clients and senior stakeholders
Lead change management processes, identifying risks and value engineering opportunities early
Drive subcontractor and supply chain commercial negotiations with autonomy
Technical Delivery
Manage monthly valuations and applications for payment with full supporting documentation
Maintain contract administration, including change registers, programmes, and forecasting
Oversee subcontractor accounts from requisition through to final account agreement
Deliver accurate cashflow forecasting and commercial reporting to support project and business decisions
Strategic Input
Work alongside the Commercial Manager on tender submissions and pricing strategies
Contribute to pre-construction planning and buildability reviews
Mentor and develop junior QS team members as projects scale
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
NEC Option A experience, you've lived and breathed these contracts, not just read about them
Minimum 2 years at Senior level on projects £5m+
Demonstrable experience across the full commercial toolkit: change management, programmes, measurement, CVRs, forecasts, cashflows
Sharp commercial awareness with knowledge of standard forms of contract (JCT, NEC) and methods of measurement
Strong negotiation skills and the confidence to have tough conversations when needed
Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable with costing systems
Highly Desirable:
MRICS or working towards chartership
Infrastructure, highways, or civil engineering sector background
Experience in mentoring or line managing junior commercial staff
SALARY AND BENEFITS
£70,000 - £90,000 (D.O.E)
