Role: DevOps Engineer

IT Global Consulting Limited- Seeking an experienced and highly motivated ‘DevOps Engineer’ who is responsible for the development, maintenance and ongoing support for the platform and acting as the internal focal point for a enterprise platform. The person should be self-motivated and ambitious, with an ongoing desire to maintain their knowledge level at the forefront of the DevOps process and technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
o Working within an agile context with the use of CI/CD
o Articulate a logical design, and understand how this translates to physical infrastructure.
o Supporting teams in mapping their stories to the available platforms, helping effectively build and deploy secure services.
o Undertaking skilled platform build/support activities, such as developing hardened base containers.
o Spotting instances where teams are not using best practice; advising around delivery risk.
o Supporting engineers in service topology discovery; helping to define QA and deployment pipelines.
o Driving adoption of new tools so teams they can improve their integration appraches; developing new or improved support processes for users.
o Work with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to assess applications, software and hardware
o Develop, coordinate, and administrate AWS infrastructure by integrating cloud native services with third party products
o Enhancing the tech stack/configurations of existing services to improve site performance and reduce issues
o Build and manage VPC Environments that cover Sandbox, DEV, Test, Production, Training, Support
o Automate deployments via infrastructure as code (Pulumi/Terraform)
o Fulfill containerization (Docker etc) troubleshooting and support task
o Agile ways of working
o This role requires you to know how to architect, design, develop, deploy and operate a Kubernetes cluster and be a good leader for your team
Kubernetes, Python, Bash, Docker, CI/CD, Monitoring, Automation
o Strong experience of Kubernetes,
o Autoscaling on AWS, Karpenter etc
o Crossplane experience a plus
o Experience of DevOps concepts and experience of deploying CI/CD pipelines using cloud native and third-party tools
o Excellent Shell Scripting and Python skills
o Experience with monitoring/metrics platforms (Datadog/Prometheus)
o Build/Deployment - CI/CD, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Git, Maven, Helm
o Monitoring - Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack
o Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
o Able to assess security of existing applications and define standards for new projects
o Experience with Nix desirable
o The desired profile is an expert and candidate must be able to work without supervision, while being a good team player.
o Work with key stakeholders in the business such as Solution Architects/ Business teams to understand the needs of the business and map that into processes and solutions within the platform.
o Suggest innovative solutions to business problems/processes that leverage technology to provide marketing differentiation, efficiency improvements and better user experiences.
o Capability of working to very tight timescales whilst maintaining quality product development
o Building up a useful, robust automated test suite to support a CICD environment.
o Work with both internal and vendor development/business teams
o Design and document solutions based on business requirements.
o Write a well-designed, testable, quality code following clean code principles.

- Nginx
- IPv4 Networking
- Software engineering (C/C++/Java/Python/Go/Rust/Node)
