The Role
Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools are currently recruiting for a Security and Desktop Technician to join the ICT Department on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role for 36.25 hours per week with a salary of £31,027 per annum. The position is available immediately (subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks).
The role involves managing and maintaining security systems (Door Access Control and CCTV), network infrastructure, and providing ICT support. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient operation of security systems, liaise with contractors, and ensure compliance with safeguarding protocols. They will also handle network cabling and work closely with the ICT Infrastructure Manager on network updates and installations. Additionally, the role includes providing technical support to staff and pupils, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the functionality of various ICT devices and systems.
The successful candidate must have experience in Security Systems Support, strong troubleshooting skills, and broad IT knowledge, including networks, servers, and smart devices. They should have customer service experience and be able to manage contractors and health and safety risks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent communication skills, and strong organisational abilities are essential. Experience with IT infrastructure, including Windows desktop systems and network troubleshooting, is required. The candidate should be adaptable to changing work needs.
