12 Month FTC
Location: Corby (Hybrid)
About The Role
The Category Manager role is a key position within the EMEA Product & Supplier Management organization, responsible for developing category strategies and collaborating with group, regional, and local stakeholders to execute growth plans. The goal is to deliver targeted profitable growth, customer acquisition, and ROI.
For the technology and suppliers they are aligned with, the category manager will be instrumental in delivering a best-in-class product offer by defining market-leading brands, latest products, and innovative technologies to drive growth across EMEA. They will also manage the supplier and product portfolio throughout the product lifecycle.
Managing a portfolio of key and strategic suppliers, they are accountable for supplier management and performance, negotiating contracts, and building collaborative relationships internally and externally to support growth.
Responsibilities And Deliverables
Category/technology strategy planning, governance, and execution
Development & execution of supplier business plans to realize the category strategy
Utilizing digital data and insights to inform decisions, identify opportunities, and enhance portfolio & supplier performance
Supplier relationship management and relationship building to support growth plans
Negotiating effectively to maximize profit
Cost management and price maintenance
New Product Introduction (NPI) and portfolio development to build a credible range and support growth
Collaborating across stakeholders to develop and deliver a compelling category offer aligned with customer needs
Managing product lifecycle including NPI, discontinuations, and revenue protection
Supporting NPI delivery through supplier data and content acquisition
Delivering KPIs such as supplier and technology growth, revenue, margin, ROI, customer acquisition, product sales, and digital performance
Negotiating to add commercial value to RS
Building strong relationships with suppliers and internal functions
Working closely with the private label team (RS Pro) for optimized ranges
Influencing customer satisfaction scores (NES and NPS)
Experience We Are Looking For
Strong commercial acumen and experience in a commercial environment
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from large datasets
Experience in supplier relationship management
Proficiency with data analytics and digital tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, Adobe Analytics
Collaborative team player with a positive, results-oriented attitude
Effective influencing skills
Operational problem-solving and process management capabilities
