Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for an Skilled Operative on a 12 month contract, based in Norfolk. Role Summary We are seeking experienced and highly competent Skilled Operatives with a strong background in deep excavation and sheet piling operations. The ideal candidate will be able to work safely and efficiently on complex civil engineering and groundworks projects, supporting site teams with the delivery of high-quality work while ensuring compliance with all safety and operational standards. Key Responsibilities * Carry out deep excavation and sheet piling activities in accordance with project specifications and safety procedures. * Support lifting operations through competent slinger/signaller duties, ensuring clear communication with crane operators and site teams. * Act as banksman for vehicle and plant movements, maintaining safe access and egress routes on site. * Assist with the installation, inspection, and removal of temporary works and shoring systems. * Operate plant or equipment (where competent and authorised) to support excavation and piling activities. * Conduct daily equipment checks and report any defects or safety concerns promptly. * Uphold a positive safety culture and lead by example in maintaining a safe, clean working environment. * Provide first aid response when required, ensuring the welfare of all personnel. * Support fire safety management on site through duties as Fire Marshal, including checks, briefings, and emergency response. Requirements: Strong understanding of temporary works, excavation safety, lifting operations, and plant movements. Ability to read and interpret method statements, RAMS, and site instructions. Strong communication skills with the ability to give and receive clear directions. Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards Physically fit and able to work in demanding outdoor environments. Qualifications (not all essential) Proven experience in deep excavation works and sheet piling operations. Slinger/Signaller qualification Banksman/Vehicle Marshal certification First Aid at Work qualification Fire Marshal certification.
