Key Responsibilities
* Utilise your in‑depth understanding of medical retina conditions to support the delivery of evidence‑based and high‑quality patient care.

* Drive positive change, implement new ways of working, and continually seek opportunities for service improvement.
* Play a critical role in evolving the Ophthalmology service by introducing innovations that enhance patient and staff experience.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Ophthalmology nurse with a solid clinical background in medical retina. You will apply your expertise to deliver outstanding patient care and lead a talented team of nurses. The role is on‑site with normal working hours as advertised.

Essential Criteria
* Registered nurse on relevant part of the NMC register
* Level 7 Post‑Grad Cert (min 60 credits), Master’s Degree within relevant speciality or equivalent knowledge assessed through evidence of relevant speciality training, experience or portfolio
* Specialist training/qualification in area of practice
* Evidence of supporting/ managing and supervising a range of learning in practice
* Evidence of leading learning in practice
* Evidence of experience and completion of all band 6 competencies within relevant speciality
* Specialist clinical skills and experience within specialist area
* Evidence of change management, leadership and innovation
* Clinical experience at Band 6 or equivalent within relevant speciality
* Evidence of supporting colleagues to promote learning in practice, providing an excellent learning environment for all
Desirable Criteria
* Counselling / advanced communication skills qualification / training
* Experience as a practice assessor or supporting the progression of learners
* Multidisciplinary team working
* Experience of nurse‑led care / clinics
* Team leadership role
* Awareness of own leadership skills / style
* Registered as an independent prescriber
* Leadership qualification / training
